I like the following fonts and tend to overuse them:
- Monospace: Pragmata Pro (paid)
- This is the highly smushed font that you might see in my terminal screenshots.
- If you want a free alternative, Iosevka is a good open source font that looks similar and even has a variant that switches glyphs around to make it look even more like Pragmata Pro.
- This website uses Iosevka Charon by default for code blocks. You can sample it here: example code block
- Monospace: Comic Code (paid)
- Comic Mono is alright if you need a free variant
- (Comic Mono is used on this website if you switch to reader mode (book icon next to search bar))
- Comic Code is genuinely nice to look at once you’re past the meme factor. It’s a genuinely nice font.
- I use Comic Code and Comic Sans on GitHub with a userstyle because sometime in 2021 they changed fonts and I didn’t like that they did that, so I switched to these fonts as a bit of a protest. Bad news: it grew on me. It gets questions every time I share my screen.
- Comic Mono is alright if you need a free variant
- Comic Neue
- (Comic Neue used on this website if you switch to reader mode (book icon next to search bar))
- Honestly, I don’t like Comic Neue very much. Comic Sans is a much nicer font for the same purpose, but sometimes you need a free font.
